The real conflict is the toll using spirit takes on Adrian, a major bone of contention between Sydney and her new husband. I hadn’t realized how long it’s been since The Ruby Circle was published, and I’m just getting around to reading this tale in first person protagonist point-of-view from Adrian’s perspective in the middle of a Moroi elitist society who feel entitled to take…ask any dhampir woman.

In 2015, The Ruby Circle was nominated for the Goodreads Choice Award for Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction. Sixth and last in the Bloodlines urban fantasy series for Young Adult readers and revolving around Sydney and Adrian, an Alchemist and a Moroi, in a spin-off from Vampire Academy. Other books by this author which I have reviewed include Succubus Blues, Succubus on Top, Succubus Dreams, Succubus Heat, Vampire Academy, Succubus Shadows, Frostbite, Succubus Revealed, Shadow Kiss, Richelle Mead, Blood Promise, Storm Born, Spirit Bound, Iron Crowned, Last Sacrifice, Eternal Lover, Thorn Queen, Shadow Heir, Bloodlines, Kisses from Hell, Indigo Spell, Gameboard of the Gods, The Fiery Heart, The Immortal Crown, Silver Shadows, Soundless History, paranormal fantasy in a hardcover edition that was published by Razorbill on Februand has 348 pages. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. * I purchase the ebook but borrowed the audiobook from my library.I received this book for free from the library in exchange for an honest review. I was bored with married Sydney and Adrian and wasn’t interested in the sub-plots the author created to create more tension and action. The finale to this six-book series just didn’t deliver. Richelle Mead is notorious a detailed and clever plot artist, but I felt my enjoyment with this series take a nosedive after book 3. With the romantic tension gone now that Adrian and Sydney are a couple, the need for a completely compelling and engaging plot is amplified. These characters were largely introduced in The Fiery Heart and I never felt connected to with them enough for them to take up large amounts of the plot. My biggest problem with the last few books have been the focus on characters (Olive, Neil and Nina) who I just don’t care about. I enjoyed the first half of the series a lot because of the wonderful dynamic between Sydney and Adrian and also each novel’s subplots. Adrian and Sydney have become increasing more boring over the last few books. Unlike many of other series enders from this author, the final book in Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines series was anticlimactic and dull. I appreciate my readers and make it my goal to be upfront and honest. This small income goes back into my blog, so I can continue to create fun content for you.
